Wire Ductility Assessment Device
The CSR Wire Ductility Assessment Device is designed to test the ductility of the armor wires of electrical/mechanical, wireline cables used in the oilfield industry.
A new oilfield wireline cable carries the certification by the manufacturer that the armor wires meet established specifications for ductility. After the cable has been exposed to various well conditions, including: high tension, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and different types of operations, the ductility of the armor wires can deteriorate and will need to be periodically checked.
The CSR "Wire Ductility Assessment Device," (WDAD), provides a tool to easily perform the industry accepted "wire wrap test" used to determine wire ductility. The WDAD kit includes a wide range of mandrels to meet the testing specifications set by wireline service companies
